Goldberg was born into a Jewish family. It was Laurel, Maryland, and graduated from Eleanor Roosevelt High School. He studied English at Oberlin College and graduated in 1993 [1]. He spent a year teaching and writing in Prague (the seed to give his collection of essays Magpie Time, which explores his favorite places in town), he moved to Brooklyn, New York, where he still lives with her husband (Jason Little ) and two daughters.
